What we’ll cover:
- What anxiety is and how it may present in your child
- The impact anxiety can have on you as a parent/carer
- An introduction to Emotionally‑Based School Avoidance (EBSA), including insights from Derbyshire research
- Practical strategies to support your child and reduce barriers to education
This workshop will offer understanding, reassurance, and helpful tools you can use at home.
We’d love for you to join us.
Kind regards,
Sarah

Dear Parent Carers,
We’re pleased to invite you to an online workshop on Emotional Regulation, facilitated by Sarah Sanders, Educational Psychologist (Derbyshire County Council).
This relaxed and informative session will explore how children experience and express their emotions. We’ll look at why emotional regulation can be particularly challenging for some children and how behaviours are often a way of communicating underlying needs.
The workshop will share practical, supportive strategies you can use at home to help nurture your child’s emotional wellbeing. Our aim is to empower parents and carers with approaches that:
- Honour each child’s individuality
- Strengthen connection and relationships
- Promote emotional wellbeing and resilience
