Pupil Premium

What is Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium grant was introduced in April 2011 with the aim of narrowing the attainment gap between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and those who are not by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most. It also includes Looked After Children, Previously Looked After Children and Services Children.

Pupil Premium allocation is spent on supporting any pupil who fulfils any of the above criteria. Support may be financial aid to attend residential and other school activities; support to attend extra-curricular activities; continuing professional development for staff in order for them to more closely support vulnerable pupils; additional teaching assistant hours and resources to support our pupils.

As a Federation, we strongly believe in inclusivity. All children will be able to access the same curriculum offer, regardless of finance or background. Our Pupil Premium money is therefore used to ensure this is always the case.

Pupil Premium Strategy Statement:

Schools are required to publish an annual Pupil Premium Strategy Statement.  This statement outlines how we spend the funding to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils.
