Class 1 Duckling Project 2024
With the support of Friends of Wessington, Class 1 have been exploring life cycles by hatching their own ducklings!
Monday
The eggs were delivered and by Tuesday morning there was already one with a crack in it.
Tuesday
The first duckling hatched on Tuesday afternoon. It had a friend by Wednesday morning.
Wednesday
The hatchlings were placed in a cage and were given food, water and warmth. They could also come out to play for a while but we had to keep an eye on them because they were already amazingly quick runners.
All five duckling had hatched by Friday.
Sunday
Mrs Lawson took the ducklings home for the weekend where they had their first swimming session. They could do it straight away! They could even dive to the bottom.
