Materials and their properties

We investigated which material would be the best one to protect an egg.

We tried our own version of the Curly Wurly challenge. We warmed, stretched and pulled different materials to see how long we could make it.

Winter Scavenger Hunt

In science we are studying the changes in seasons. We went on a winter walk to find things that we see in the winter.

Materials

We used our knowledge of different materials and their properties to separate materials in a mixture.

We investigated which materials would be best for an umbrella.

We proved that metal conducts heat.

We investigated the effect of forces on different materials.

Blubber Glove!

We wanted to know how animals could survive in cold conditions at the poles. We made a blubber glove by filling a plastic glove with lard. When we wore it we would keep our hand in the icy water for ages without feeling the cold. That is why animals like walruses have a think layer blubber underneath their skin.

Examining how living things are suited to where they live.
