Holloway Playgroup

Admissions

Children can attend Holloway Playgroup from the age of 2.  As an introduction to playgroup, children are invited to attend a session with a parent/carer during the term before they start.

We also have a pre-school Rising 5's session which children are eligible to attend when they are approaching their 4th birthday.  These sessions are either a Monday or Thursday afternoon and are run on a smaller adult ratio and focus on preparing children for life in school.  During these sessions we focus on topics such as letters and sounds, numeracy and other areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance.  Activities are often managed on a one-to-one or small group basis which enables staff to support and extend child's learning individually.  Rising 5's sessions begin in January for those children who start school in September.  The sessions run alongside the existing afternoon sessions.

We follow the same academic year pattern as Derbyshire County Council.  Term dates can be found on our website and on the playgroup noticeboard.

Our session times are:

Morning Sessions:Monday to Friday 9.15am to 12.15pm
Lunch Sessions:Monday to Friday 12.15pm to 12.45pm
Afternoon Sessions:Monday to Friday 12.45pm to 3.45pm
Early drop offMonday to Friday 9.00am

Afternoon sessions on Tuesday and Friday are held at Lea Primary School.  Tuesday is a Forest School session (for children aged 3 years and over) and Friday is a sports-based session.  On these days children need to be dropped off at the village hall and collected from Lea Primary School.
